Landscape professionals may now register for the National Association of Landscape Professionals' (NALP) annual Renewal & Remembrance event in Washington, D.C.
For 26 years, Renewal & Remembrance has been a signature association event. Each July, lawn care and landscape professionals from across the country donate their time and expertise to enhance the grounds at Arlington National Cemetery and honor the men and women buried there. NALP will also host additional volunteer projects at the Washington Monument.
Details of this year's event include:
- Volunteers will complete projects including top dressing turf, restoring irrigation, installing lightning protection on designated trees and various landscape & hardscape projects at Arlington National Cemetery.
- The Children's Program: At Arlington National Cemetery, volunteers’ children will be invited to participate in activities specifically designed for them. There needs to be one parent/legal guardian present for a child to participate in the program. Parent/legal guardian cannot work on a project elsewhere.
- At the Washington Monument, volunteers will complete projects including woodchips, seeding and planting.
- The Children's Program: At the Washington Monument, volunteers’ children will be invited to participate in activities specifically designed for them. There needs to be one parent/legal guardian present for a child to participate in the program. Parent/legal guardian cannot work on a project elsewhere.
- Only working volunteers can attend the R&R event at ANC due to capacity restrictions.
The number of participants at ANC will be limited and based on the need for each project. Volunteers not assigned to projects at ANC will be assigned to the projects on the National Mall.
There is no fee to participate, but NALP invites attendees to join the reception and dinner on Sunday evening, July 16, at the Renaissance Arlington Capital View hotel. There is a $75 per person fee for the reception and dinner. Those interested may register here.
