Major League Power Equipment, a dealership in East Setauket, NY, recently announced that, for the second consecutive year, it has been one of the leading dealers in Wright Stander sales in the Northeast corridor.

Artie D’Ambra, owner of Major League Power Equipment, says, “I’ve been selling the Wright Stander on Long Island ever since it first came out. When you buy a Wright, you know you’re getting a quality piece of equipment. Once customers see how Wright Standers can help them be more productive, they have to have it.”

Over the last three years, Wright Stander sales at Major League Power Equipment have more than doubled.

The Wright Stander was introduced in 1997 and was the first and only mower on the market at the time to feature the now familiar stand-on design. D’Ambra was the first dealer on Long Island to offer the Stander, and it wasn’t long before area lawn maintenance professionals took note of its performance and maneuverability advantages. The Stander quickly became D’Ambra’s best-selling model, and has been a major factor, along with the addition of other Wright models, in helping to drive Major League Power Equipment’s growth and success ever since.

“A 48-inch Stander was the first unit I sold, and that particular machine is actually still running today,” notes D’Ambra. “That’s what I love about the Stander—it’s bullet-proof. When you sell one, you can pretty much guarantee that it’s going to be serving the customer for a long time.”

Today, Major League Power Equipment offers 15 different Wright models, with the 36-inch Stander Rapid Height its best-selling model. D’Ambra says, “Often, I recommend coupling the 36- and 52-inch models together. They share the same blades, and they’re a perfect combination for easily handling small spaces and quickly covering larger, more wide-open jobs.”

In addition to offering the full Wright lineup, the dealership stocks every single part of each Wright mower. “We could build an entire machine from the parts in our inventory,” says D’Ambra. “That’s another reason we sell so much Wright product. Customers know that when they buy a Wright from us, they can get it serviced quickly. Furthermore, if we need a part, Wright can manufacture it, paint it, and ship it to us within 24 hours. That helps us minimize our customers’ downtime so that they can be back out on the job making money.”
