Whether you're talking landscape installation, maintenance, lawn care or irrigation, there are a variety of attachments out there to help you get a variety of work done faster. Furthermore, attachments can help landscape contractors get more use out of their tractors, loaders and even mowers. Keeping high-dollar machines working, as opposed to sitting idle in your yard, is always a good thing.

While just about every contractor owns a mower, tractor and/or loader, it's interesting to note that only a third to maybe half own some kind of attachment. That statement is based on a recent survey of landscape contractors conducted by our sister publication, Rental magazine. However, more contractors are showing a need for and interest in a variety of attachments as they come to understand the benefits of incorporating them into their fleets.

According to the survey, the following attachments are the most popular among landscape contractors:

  • Mowers/Cutters
  • Buckets
  • Rakes
  • Forks
  • Blades
  • Tillers
  • Seeders
  • Augers

Also according to the survey, the following attachments are the most sought-after by contractors looking to invest in attachments over the next year:

  • Backhoes
  • Mowers/Cutters
  • Augers
