2015 Lawn Sprayer Equipment Preview

A look at what's new from leading makers of spraying equipment.

Sprayer manufacturers have taken spray quality and operator comfort to new levels.

Perhaps the biggest news in 2015 is that two powerhouse mower brands, Toro and its subsidiary Exmark, are now manufacturing their own stand-on sprayer/spreaders. Each features Lean-to-Steer controls, which allow the operator to control forward/reverse and left/right steering with one hand while using the other hand to operate the controls.

A popular standby in the sprayer product category, PermaGreen has also taken steps to improve usability. The company's updated 2015 Triumph Spreader Sprayer features SmartSteering, which assists the rider in making tight turns, even on hilly terrain.

Spray quality is a big factor in sprayer selection. The more even the application, the fewer passes required to complete a job. For instance, Grasshopper Shielded Sprayers are aerodynamically designed to provide an even and constant application. The S25SS Spray-Pro push sprayer from Earthway also promises precise application with fine, medium, and coarse nozzle tips to control application rates.
