Mulching Head Attachment Achieves Small Particle Sizes

The Carbide Cutter G4 is Loftness’ newest generation high-performance mulching head attachment for skid steers. Features include:

• A two-stage cutting chamber with two shear bars to achieve small particle sizes, while eliminating jamming and wrapping issues.
• A new adjustable primary-stage shear bar that can be widened or narrowed to fine-tune material size and production rate.
• A V-drive system that includes a variable-displacement motor with 37-percent more displacement, which improves torque and offers less stalling and shorter recovery.
• Load-sensing technology that, under light loads, operates at maximum RPM, and as the load increases, automatically lowers the rotor RPM to maximize torque.
• An inside of the cutting chamber that is smooth and open, which reduces clogging from mud or buildup of material.
• Carbide-tipped teeth or heat-treated steel planer blade Loftness Quadco teeth to match any job applications.
• Improved skid shoes that can be adjusted from 0.5 inches to -1.5 inches, which allows mulching below grade.
• Operation from 2,000 to 2,400 RPMs.
• A mulching head with a synchronous drive belt for greater efficiency and less maintenance.
• Full rotation of the mulching head thanks to specially designed hose routing that allows more motion without damage.
• Availability with 61- and 71-inch cutting widths.
• Abrasion-resistant steel in areas exposed to high wear.
• A custom hydraulic control valve that protects the unit from pressure spikes and stops the rotor quickly on shutdown without damaging components.
