Hustler-Mower Maker Eyes Growth in International Sales

Excel Industries hires VP of global supply chain as international sales of Hustler and BigDog mowers continue to increase.

Excel Industries Inc., manufacturer of Hustler Turf Equipment and BigDog Mowers, has named Brent E. Edmisten as vice president of global supply chain effective July 16, 2012. A company announcement says Edmisten will provide leadership in managing the extensive growth of the company as international sales and the Hustler and BigDog product lines continue to increase. Fiscal year sales for 2012 are expected to reach more than $170 million, up from 2011 sales of $150 million.

Prior to his current position, Edmisten had executive leadership positions at Cessna Aircraft Company and most recently at Hawker Beechcraft Corporation as vice president of supply chain operations. He brings over 20 years experience to Excel as a supply chain transformation leader. His background includes the design, deployment and management of global supply chain processes that deliver results in the areas of quality, cost, delivery, service and overall product improvements. His many awards and accomplishments include winner of the Purchasing Medal of Excellence in Supply Chain Management, numerous published articles for magazines and other publications, featured conference speaker, and a member of the University of Kansas SCM Advisory Board.

Edmisten earned a B.S. in Business Administration and an Executive Masters of Business Administration from Friends University in Wichita, Kansas. He is a Certified Six Sigma Green Belt, an APICS Certified Supply Chain Professional and a Lifetime Certified Purchasing Manager.
