Cub Cadet Donates Equipment to Local Hero

“Great American Heroes” show host and country music star, Trace Adkins, delivered three pieces of outdoor power equipment to featured hero, Andrew Stachowiak.

On a recent episode of the Great American Country Network’s new series “Great American Heroes”, show host and country music star, Trace Adkins, hand-delivered three pieces of outdoor power equipment from Cub Cadet to featured Grand Rapids, MI, hero, Andrew Stachowiak. Stachowiak, current small business owner, GreenCare for Troops volunteer and former Marine, was gifted a Cub Cadet commercial-grade zero-turn riding mower (Cub Cadet Tank SZ 48) along with a backpack blower and string trimmer from one of the leading manufacturers in the industry.

This is Andrew’s second year volunteering with GreenCare for Troops, where he takes care of the yard care needs of several military families at no cost to them. GreenCare for Troops is a nationwide outreach program initiated by Project EverGreen that connects participating landscape maintenance professionals and individual volunteers with families of the men and women currently serving our country in the Armed Forces.

“GreenCare for Troops volunteers like Andrew Stachowiak are examples to us, giving men and women who serve our country one less thing to worry about back here at home,” said Jeff Salamon, director of marketing for Cub Cadet. “It is a privilege for us to partner with Great American Heroes and a very fitting tribute to donate equipment from a great American brand like Cub Cadet to such a giving individual.”

As part of Trace Adkins nationwide tour for the Great American Heroes series, he made a stop in Grand Rapids, Michigan at a property Stachowiak was maintaining. In addition to acknowledging all he’s done to support GreenCare for Troops and the military families that benefit from his services as a volunteer, Adkins also wanted to surprise him with something special. In this case, Cub Cadet was able to step in to offer that surprise. Local Cub Cadet dealership, Weingartz, hand-delivered the Cub Cadet products to the local residence where the show was being produced.

“A lawn can be a difficult thing to maintain when members of military families are on active duty and away from home,” said Bill Shallman, store manager for Weingartz. “Having experienced this himself, Andrew was the perfect choice for one of the many American heroes featured on the show. We were thrilled to partner with Cub Cadet to provide Andrew with brand new, high-performance equipment, as a gesture of all of our thanks for what he continues to do for military families in this area.”
