Green Industry Pros sources say that several key executives, engineers and other personnel have been let go by Magic Circle Corp., manufacturer of Dixie Chopper mowers. Dealers are reporting long backorders for common parts including mower blades. "Deep financial troubles" persist, one source says.
But according to Eli Kean, the newly installed marketing manager, Wes Evans has been named president and CEO. Wes is the son of Art Evans, company founder. "The restructure was solely based around putting the (Evans) family back in charge of running the company," Kean says.
Among those employees who have been released are CEO Simon Wilson, CFO Matthew Miller, and marketing manager Mark Meyers.
