Uh-Oh, I Just Killed the Grass!!!

Ohio university has to replace 54 of its 74 acres of turf because a lawn company accidentally applied broad-spectrum herbicide instead of fertilizer.

Reportedly 54 of the University of Findlay’s 72 acres of turfgrass were destroyed when an unnamed lawn care company accidentally applied a broad-spectrum herbicide instead of fertilizer.

The herbicide that was used was similar to Roundup, which contains glyphosphate, a broad-spectrum systemic herbicide that kills both weeds and grass.

The university is now working with the lawn care company’s insurance provider to replace the turf.

Mistakes like this can be costly. Do you have systems in your company to prevent these types of mistakes?
