Landscape Development Inc. of Valencia, CA, has welcomed a new vice president of maintenance, Fredric R. Haskett. As a Landscape Industry Certified Manager, Certified Turfgrass Professional and Certified Arborist, Haskett will be working to aid the company in its continued growth and success within the maintenance department.

Haskett has been a part of the landscape industry for more than 35 years with his most recent position as the branch manager for Trugreen Landcare in San Diego, CA. Haskett’s work experience includes various levels of management working for The J C Ehrlich Green Team, The Brickman Group and The ValleyCrest Companies. His work in the industry began upon graduating Ohio State University with a degree in Landscape Design and Horticulture. After which, he founded his own residential lawn care company and grew Greenworld Lawn & Landscape Management from a one-man operation to a multi-faceted firm with revenues reaching nearly $1 million.

Haskett’s accomplishments span beyond traditional management. In 1995, he published “Containment Systems Design”, a guidebook for chemical storage, mixing and recycling. He’s also written for various landscaping industry magazines. Haskett was honored the Trailblazer Award for Lifetime Green Industry Achievement by the Professional Landcare Network (PLANET) in 2006.

Haskett is eager to begin working with the Landscape Development team and has great plans for the future. When asked what he is looking to accomplish in his new role, he stated that he is “looking forward to the growth of the landscape management division in terms of success, profitability and innovation.” His plan is to work with the team “to move the division forward” from where they stand today. Haskett stated that his strength is in his ability to observe and adapt great management processes and to assess what is currently working and not working. “My main focus is in creating a strong team-builder process and allowing everyone to be a part of a cohesive team that delivers ‘Raving Fan’ service,” Haskett added.

Upon starting the position, Haskett and his wife Kelly have relocated from San Diego to Ventura County, residing on their sailboat, the “Touché.” Haskett and his wife enjoy spending their leisure time sailing around the Caribbean and Pacific, visiting their two children and seven grandchildren in Missouri, and attempting to break 100 on the golf course.
