ASLA Survey Shows Business Conditions for Landscape Architects Holding Steady

More than 3/4 of landscape architects say both billable hours and inquiries for new work are either stable or growing significantly.

Landscape architecture firms are reporting steady business conditions, according to the American Society of Landscape Architects’ third quarter 2014 Business Quarterly survey.

84% reported stable to significantly higher billable hours in the third quarter, a 2% increase compared to quarter two.

84% also reported stable to significantly higher inquiries for new work in the third quarter, a slight decrease of roughly 1% from quarter two.

Year to year, 86% report stable to significantly higher third-quarter inquiries for new work, a 1% increase from one year ago. Additionally, 82% said third-quarter billable hours were about the same or higher, a jump of roughly 1% from the third quarter of 2013.
