The BLIZZARD POWER PLOW® can hydraulically expand its moldboard width at the touch of a button to efficiently match any plowing situation. Choose from four primary wing positions:
- Compact – 8’ or 8’ 6”
- Wide Pass – 10’ or 11’
- Bucket Blade (scoop) – 8’ 9” or 9’ 10”
- Windrow Position – 9’ or 9’ 9” (window dims at wide-pass configuration).
“There are various advantages to operating a Power Plow as compared to, for instance, our SPEEDWING plow,” explains Patrick Dietz, manager of product marketing for Blizzard. “Snow-carrying capacity is one. The POWER PLOW is simply a larger plow that can carry more snow in windrow or bucket configurations.”
Versatility is a second advantage. “Operators have the ability to adjust wing position from the inside of the truck cab,” Dietz says. “They can fully retract the wings, fully extend them, place them in scoop, or any variation in between. Because the wings are operated by two protected, double-acting cylinders equipped with relief valves, the wings are operated at the touch of a button. On the other hand, for an operator to manipulate the wings on the SpeedWing, other than with the built-in mechanical operation, manual pins are required.”
Heavier-duty design. Finally, the POWER PLOW is a heavier-duty plow, which promotes scraping ability, along with both forward and back dragging, Dietz points out.
