FISHER® says its 7' 6" to 9' 6" XtremeV™ V-plow allows contractors to quickly handle even the toughest jobs. A big reason why is the plow’s fast hydraulics and operating speeds.

Hydraulics. “All FISHER hydraulics are manufactured in-house, ensuring premium quality and durability,” says Andy McArdie, product manager for FISHER. “For faster, more reliable performance, we use two-way, poppet-style valves which allow a higher velocity of oil flow than traditional three- or four-way spool valves. We also inverted the hydraulic unit to position the reservoir over the electric motor so that the constant warming from the motor helps maintain optimum fluid viscosity.

“For maximum reliability, all solenoids are independently powered and grounded directly to the battery though our plow module,” McArdie continues. “The hydraulic unit is fully enclosed by our durable poly-cover to protect all critical electrical and hydraulic components from the harsh elements.” Finally, all FISHER XtremeV V-plows come standard with FISHER’s InstaLock double-acting cylinders, allowing the user to hold the wings firmly in place for best-in-class back dragging ability, according to McArdie.

Controls. Efficiency is further bolstered by the V-plow’s controls. Each wing function has its own button for easy, intuitive operation. “The advanced control allows the operator to use the plow in straight-blade mode by hydraulically locking the blade wings together,” McArdie explains. “By locking them together, the operator can move both blade wings simultaneously without having to push multiple control buttons.”

Mounting system. Every XtremeV plow comes with the Minute Mount® 2 mounting system. “It’s a simple, 100% mechanical design,” McArdie relates. “There are no electrical components or hydraulic assist systems to fail.”

Driving into the plow is easy, McArdie says, even if your alignment isn’t perfect. “The flared receiver brackets guide the attachment arms into place—both horizontally and vertically. With the use of the pin-release handle and spring-loaded connecting pins, the operator can easily attach/detach his plow from the vehicle. The Minute Mount 2 also utilizes low-profile mounts, providing optimum vehicle ground clearance when the mount is left on the vehicle.”
