The Wide-Out adjustable-wing snowplow from Western provides an 8-foot straight blade, 9-foot scoop and 10-foot extended straight blade, all in the same plow.
“The Wide-Out is most useful for those contractors who are facing a number of different job requirements,” says Doug Clark, product manager for Western. The diverse array of properties prevents these contractors from specializing their blade of choice. Thus, Clark points out, the Wide-Out excels when the contractor must carry as much snow as possible, as is the case in parking lot-type situations.
The Wide-Out also excels when versatility is required, as is the case in bank parking lots where plowers want both high carrying capacity (scoop mode) while retaining the ability to plow the narrow drive-through lanes (fully retracted mode)—without having to send two more more units to the site.
Other key features of the Wide-Out include:
- Leading wing angled forward means enhanced windrowing efficiency
- Wings hydraulically and independently extend with the touch of a button
- Increased control means completing jobs with fewer passes
