International Salt’s Blizzard Wizard Ice Melt is a proprietary, blended ice-melt product containing sodium chloride and Ice B'Gone II, a patented formulation containing liquid magnesium chloride and an agricultural by-product of sugar cane. Unlike other ice-melt products whose ancillary ingredients usually are added topically, Blizzard Wizard is distinctive, as all components are thoroughly blended, resulting in salt crystals that are moist and uniformly encapsulated with Ice B'Gone II.
The initiation of the melting process begins when Blizzard Wizard comes into contact with snow and ice, forming brine which penetrates through the wintry mix, breaking the bond between snow and ice, and quickly achieving bare pavement. The moist characteristic of Blizzard Wizard provides for greater surface adherence resulting in less bounce and scatter, which subsequently achieves the desired melting outcome more efficiently.
The product, as a result of its attributes, is often used as an anti-icing agent, and is spread onto surfaces prior to the onset of winter weather conditions in order to initiate the melting process.
Blizzard Wizard provides below-zero melting performance, greater surface adherence, and is friendlier to the environment. In fact, Blizzard Wizard is one of the first commercially available ice-melt products to receive the distinction of being a U.S. EPA-designated “Design for the Environment” product.
Blizzard Wizard is available in bulk and a variety of package sizes to accommodate the needs of winter maintenance professionals in the public and private sectors throughout the mid-Atlantic and northeast regions of the United States. Blizzard Wizard packaged sizes include 10#, 20#, 25#, 40#, and 50# heavy-duty poly bags, 50# pails, and 12# easy-pour jugs.
