New in 2012, Kohler's Command PRO EFI propane engine.
The Kohler Command PRO EFI Propane engines, in models ranging from 22 to 25 horsepower, are an ideal choice to power commercial mowers. The combination of Kohler’s closed-loop EFI system and propane fuel provides landscapers with fuel efficiency and performance. Command PRO EFI propane engines offer all the benefits of EFI in combination with the clean-burning, eco-friendly benefits of propane. Many landscape contractors nationwide have turned to propane to ensure they can stay up- and-running during “Green Days” or “Ozone Action Days,” when local municipalities prohibit the use of gasoline-powered equipment.
The Kohler Command PRO EFI engines feature an oxygen sensor that analyzes the air/fuel mixture in the engine’s muffler makes adjustments to the amount of fuel injected into the system. This provides a constant stream of critical feedback, which helps deliver optimal fuel efficiency and other benefits, including easier starting, fuel adaptability, improved power, and better reliability.
In addition to improved engine performance, these engines are proven to save end users up to 25% in fuel when compared to Kohler’s carbureted engines under comparable load conditions. For commercial landscapers, that translates to $600 per year in fuel savings for each EFI engine in their fleet, according to the engine manufacturer. With the propane model, the savings increases even more based on the lower cost of propane fuel.
