Verizon Networkfleet is now offering Networkfleet Satellite Coverage, which combines cellular and satellite communications to ensure uninterrupted vehicle tracking in remote areas.
Networkfleet Satellite Coverage is a dual-mode system that consists of a satellite modem that directly connects to the Networkfleet 5000 series GPS tracking device. The system automatically redirects communications to the satellite network for vehicles traveling in remote areas. While in satellite mode, it updates vehicle location every 15 minutes as well as all key-on/key-off events. Additionally, the 5000 series unit stores additional messages, including more frequent tracking updates, vehicle diagnostic trouble codes, and threshold alerts to be transmitted when cellular coverage resumes.
In general, the Networkfleet telematics solution combines in-vehicle hardware and a web-based application to store, view and analyze data on specific vehicles as well as overall fleet performance. Key features include GPS fleet tracking, asset tracking, fleet maps, vehicle diagnostics with alerts, roadside assistance, preventative maintenance, and other fleet management tools.
