Featuring an electronically controlled fuel-injection system, Stihl’s TS 500i Cutquik increases power by 17% while only increasing weight by 6%, as compared to the Stihl TS 420.
The Stihl computer-mapped fuel-injection system continuously and precisely determines fuel mixture, injected quantity, injection and ignition timing. Benefits of this EFI system include:
- Better power-to-weight ratio means you'll get more work done with less physical effort
- Automatic adjustment to varying environmental conditions such as heat, cold and altitude means the unit will run its best in all conditions without any manual tuning
- Easier starting procedure, just prime and pull — all of the normal starting functions such as choke are automatically executed by the electronic controller, reducing the risk of flooding
- Combined with low-emission engine technology, the system enables the TS 500i to have 20% reduced fuel consumption when compared with traditional 2-stroke engines, according to Stihl
Stihl says this unique EFI engine isn’t the only thing that makes the TS 500i Cutquik a good choice for contractors. Other features of the unit include:
- Designed for superior handling during the toughest jobs
- 72.2cc, low-emission engine designed to provide optimal torque throughout the RPM range
- X2 air filtration system is virtually maintenance-free and maintains a 99.96% cleaning efficiency
- Standard electronic water control feature allows for easy and efficient water flow adjustment while cutting; remembers the last setting that was used, and water flow automatically stops at idle speed and starts again when the throttle is engaged
- Diagnostic application is available to help servicing dealers troubleshoot issues and streamline service
- Weighs 22.5 pounds with water attachment and guard
- 24.5-ounce fuel tank
- 14-inch maximum wheel size
- 4.9-inch maximum cutting depth
