Samsara
Samsara released three new tools to assist public works fleets during the snowy season: coverage map, coverage map live share and material spreader integration. Using the cloud, these tools allow for real-time fleet operation visibility to boost public services and safety. The triad comes as the latest addition to Samsara's previously established tool suite for public works departments.
From Samsara:
- Coverage Map shows a real-time view of serviced streets over a specified time, letting administrators track progress. The location and activity of service vehicles can be monitored, as well. Trip history and power takeoff tracking are available with the Coverage Map tool.
- Coverage Map Live Share lets administrators share a publicly-accessible view of the Coverage Map to communicate the status of services delivered to external stakeholders such as citizens. The configurable map includes a date range, tag, trip history and expiration date among its features.
- Material Spreader Integration connects data between Samsara and your existing third-party spreader system to efficiently and effectively use spreader materials such as salt and brine. The Samsara dashboard shows your spreading rate, road temperature and more.
