HBD/Thermoid in Bellefontaine, OH, has announced that Michael V. Craven has been promoted to general manager of the company’s power transmission belt manufacturing plant in Elgin, SC. The HBD/Thermoid Elgin plant produces a full line of power transmission belt products: V-belts, synchronous timing belts, fractional horsepower replacement belts and metric belts that power virtually any type of drive.
“With nearly 30 years of experience in the V-belt industry, Michael (Craven) has an extensive background in quality assurance, production and lean manufacturing management systems,” said Randy L. Greely, chairman and CEO of HBD Industries Inc. “His production and management skills, combined with the knowledge and expertise of our production personnel, will help us meet the ever-changing needs of our present and future customers.”
Before being named general manager, Craven was the production manager at the Elgin manufacturing facility where he directed numerous LSS projects and developed the plant’s ISO- certified quality system. Prior to that, Craven held managerial positions in the automotive and textiles industries.
Craven has a B.S. in business administration from the College of Charleston (Charleston, SC). He has also completed advanced course studies in Political and Computer Sciences at the University of Florida.
