GIE+EXPO, GIC Attendance a Pleasant Surprise

Pre-registration for PLANET’s landscape contractor education conference (GIC) was up 20%; solid dealer attendance fueled by first-ever Dealer Day.

GIE+EXPO 2012 got off to a roaring start thanks to a 20% increase in GIC pre-registration. Also, a strong showing on Dealer Day helped raise the energy level from the opening bell.

“I think we were all pleasantly surprised by the dealer attendance,” said Kris Kiser, OPEI’s president and CEO. Many exhibitors also expressed satisfaction. Even dealers were revved up more than usual. “I saw dealers that I hadn’t seen here for years,” said Ohio dealer and regular GIE+EXPO attendee Dale Magie.

Norman Goldenberg, the TruGreen executive acting as current PLANET president, said the impressive GIC pre-registration numbers represent just one encouraging statistic. “This was the best pre-reg we’ve seen since 2007. The partnership (PLANET and OPEI) is stronger than ever. Expect even bigger and better things in the future.”
