The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality hosted a testimony hearing in Wolfforth, Texas, to discuss the new irrigation petition proposed by its Irrigator Advisory Council. The group spoke to a room full of dozens of local citizens who spoke out against the petition.

"I think this is an unnecessary regulation change and I don't think it's going to create any benefit," Randall Merriott said.

The petition pushes to designate all landscape irrigation systems as health hazards. Some argue it would be against code from the new international plumbing codes that were recently updated.
