BASF says its FreeHand herbicide gives growers a cost-effective alternative to manual weeding of annual grasses, sedge species and many small-seeded, broadleaf weeds. Its two active ingredients, dimethenamid-P and pendimethalin, prevent weeds from growing and multiplying by inhibiting cell growth in seedling shoots and impeding plant cell microtubule assembly in roots.
