Nufarm, a member and gold sponsor of the National Association of Landscape Professionals, participated in Renewal & Remembrance at Arlington National Cemetery July 17, 2017.  A team of 25 Nufarm employees and their families joined industry professionals from around the country to help care for this national burial ground that serves as the final resting spot for more than 400,000 military service men and women, and their spouses. This year marked Nufarm’s 10th year participating in the event, which is done in honor of Mark Phipps, a Philadelphia sales representative who passed away in 2006 from pancreatic cancer.

Every July, hundreds of landscape and lawn care professionals come from across the nation to Arlington National Cemetery to participate in Renewal & Remembrance, which is organized by the National Association of Landscape Professionals. They volunteer their time mulching, upgrading sprinklers, cabling and installing lightning protection for the trees, pruning, planting, liming and aerating the soil.

“Anyone who has been to this will tell you it creates memories that will last a lifetime. Our team looks forward to this opportunity each year to serve a worthy cause and give back to the individuals who made personal sacrifices for their country,” said Sean Casey, Nufarm’s vice president of sales for turf and ornamental. “Nufarm always has a large team of volunteers participating, and I think this reflects our company’s strong values and commitment to giving back to the community in the most meaningful way possible for our industry.”

NALP members were also joined by members of the National Hispanic Landscape Alliance and the Professional Grounds Management Society.
