Kubota Tractor Corporation recently introduced five new models in the evolution of its residential zero-turn mower line with the new Z200 Series.

Previewed at GIE+Expo in October 2019, the Z200 series is Kubota’s next-level zero-turn residential mower for homeowners looking for a professional-quality cut.

It includes the Z231KW, available with a Kawasaki engine and a 42-inch deck, the Z231KH and Z251KH with Kohler engines and 48-inch and 54-inch decks, and the Z231BR and Z251BR with Briggs & Stratton engines and 48-inch and 54-inch decks.

“The Kubota Z200 Series combines everything homeowners want in a residential zero-turn mower, combined with the engineering and durability customers expect from Kubota’s professional line of products,” said Tom Vachal, senior turf product manager for Kubota. “Our focus on durability led us to this next evolution of the Kubota residential zero-turn mower line. Thoughtful top to bottom features, from our new deluxe high-back seat to the deep and wide pully grooves in the deck, result in a machine that makes mowing both easy and fun for the operator.”

When Performance Counts

The Kubota Z231KW is equipped with a 21.5 gross horsepower Kawasaki engine, a ZT-2200 transmission, and 3.6-gallon fuel tank. The Z231KH and Z251KH models offer a 21 or 25 gross horsepower Kohler engine while the Z231BR and Z251BR offer a 22 or 24 gross horsepower Briggs & Stratton engine. All four of these models are equipped with a commercial-grade hydro-gear ZT-3100 transmission that delivers maximum power to the wheels and a large 4.3-gallon fuel tank capacity. The Z231KH and Z251KH models include LED headlights and a full suspension seat.

The Kubota Z200 Series mower deck is constructed of 10-gauge welded steel. The deck’s 5-inch deep design and high blade tip speed allows more airflow through the blades, enabling a higher quality of cut at a faster rate and an even discharge of clippings. Kubota’s patented K-Lift (standard on KH and BR models) mechanical one-push deck lift pedal and dial cam allow the operator to adjust to a wide range of cutting heights in quarter-inch increments from 1.5 to 4.5 inches, for a superior, even cut on a variety of turf types.

The Kubota Z200 Series offers homeowners professional results in a stylish, comfortable design that makes mowing as easy as possible. The Kubota Z200 Series features a new deluxe, cushioned high back seat with up to 6 inches of horizontal adjustment. The wide foot pan with plenty of legroom, multiple storage compartments, ergonomic control panel and cupholders all contribute to maximum operator comfort. A keyed ignition and manual choke-control make starting the Z200 with one hand simple. Large 22-inch (standard on KH and BR models), low-profile wide rear tires not only add style, but also reduce ground contact pressure, providing a smooth ride on uneven terrain.

Safety First

The Kubota Z200 Series is designed with operator safety in mind. Its low center of gravity increases stability, and standard safety features include a roll-over protective structure (ROPS), retractable seat belt, a flexible spring-loaded plastic discharge shield and four safety interlocks. Large rear tire tread is designed for better traction and performance, and the LED headlights (standard on KH models) add increased operator visibility.easier and more consistent.

The new mowers are covered by a comprehensive manufacturer warranty of four years or 300 hours on both the mower and the engine.
