Toro Hosting Environmental Sustainability Workshop at Student Career Days 2015

Workshop to focus on the need for efficient use of resources and technology solutions.

Horticulture and landscape students from across the country are gearing up for the 39th annual PLANET Student Career Days at North Carolina State University in Raleigh March 12–15.  The Toro Company will continue its sponsorship of the educational program by hosting a workshop on environmentally friendly business practices.

The environmental sustainability workshop will be presented by Toro’s chief agronomist, Dr. Van Cline, and will focus primarily on the need for efficient use of resources and technology solutions that allow landscape professionals to promote sustainable practices in their operations.

“We are excited to be a part of this important event that helps educate tomorrow’s landscape professionals,” explains Chris Hannan, marketing manager for Toro. “Sharing insight with tomorrow’s leaders and supporting this event not only helps to build a brighter future for our industry, but also teaches these students to be responsible stewards of the land by reinforcing the importance of environmental sustainability.”

In addition to the workshop, Toro is a major sponsor for the Student Career Days event and is a Platinum Ambassador for PLANET’s Academic Excellence Foundation (AEF), awarding an annual scholarship to a PLANET student. The scholarship will be presented to the recipient during the event.
