In order to improve the user experience for customers using its products, RYAN announced that it is going to offer on-demand operator tutorials via text-to-video technology.
Text-to-video provides access via mobile phone to a short operator training tutorial when end-users text a keyword to a specific number. RYAN is going to display a decal containing this information on the operator control panel. Once texted, a link is sent to users’ mobile phones directing them to a video on how to start and operate the machine, along with a demonstration of the product in use.
The five RYAN products being rolled out with text-to-video are Lawnaire IV and V walk-behind aerators, the Lawnair® ZTS stand-on aerator, the Ren-O-Thin power rake and the Jr. Sod Cutter.
“Our goal in using text-to-video is to make the RYAN experience a positive one,” said Troy Blewett, director of marketing for Schiller Grounds Care, owner of the RYAN brand. “Most end-users don’t have a question about a product until they are faced with having to actually use it, long after they left the store. Then the store gets a call and has to explain how to use the equipment over the phone, a process often confusing and frustrating for both parties. Text-to-video solves the problem,” he says.
