The Blizzard® SPEEDWING™ is a cost-effective, multi-position plow that’s as easy to use as a straight blade. That’s because SpeedWing “thinks for itself” with wings that automatically angle forward or back, based on blade position, to maximize plowing efficiency.
Windrowing. When angled for windrowing, the trailing wing folds back in line with the moldboard, while the leading wing retains its forward position to capture more snow, reduce spill-off, and allow use of the entire blade. “This configuration is most useful when clearing lots or open spaces,” says Patrick Dietz, manager of product marketing for Blizzard.
Straight-ahead plowing. For straight-ahead plowing, both wings angle forward, automatically defaulting to the scoop position for maximum snow-pushing and stacking capacity. “This configuration is most useful when you want to carry as much snow as possible, and also reduce spill-off or run-off on either side,” Dietz points out. “For example, when maneuvering between cars or tight spaces, the scoop configuration keeps the snow in front of the blade, reducing time spent cleaning up spill-off.”
