The Morbark, Inc. says that their Boxer X7 Brush Chipper is easy to use, tow and maintain and is designed primarily for the rental and independent contractor market. It is compact and lightweight, which makes for easy towing. Morbark says that the simplified design in no way reduces its productivity.
“The Boxer X7 has what we call ‘easy 1-2-3 operation,’” said Jason Showers, Boxer product manager. “It’s designed so that a person whose primary job isn’t chipping—a homeowner renting the machine or a landscape contractor, for example—can quickly and easily complete the job. Once the operator becomes familiar with the safety features and requirements of the machine, they only have to start the engine, engage the throttle to full RPM and engage the feed control bar to chip.”
- Equipped with a Kohler 25-hp (18.4 kW) EFI gasoline engine, which burns up to 25% less fuel than a similar engine with a carburetor and has quicker recovery times and better cold weather starting
- The 32-inch (81 cm) diameter, 1.25-inch (3 cm) thick chipper disc provides greater kinetic energy to power through tough material and is up to 33% larger in diameter
- The reverse pivot infeed with internal drive applies 1,118 pounds of clamp load to the material, while the powerful 24.0 CID (393 cc) feed wheel motor provides more than 1,700 pounds per feet of pulling force
- Has a 10.63-inch (27 cm) diameter, 9.5-inch (24 cm) wide single top feed wheel with ripper teeth end caps and horizontal knife bars
- Infeed design eliminates springs and bearings, which reduces maintenance and service points
- Has a four-position control bar and dual safety pull cables

- Features a hinged chipper hood for convenient access to the chipping disc and the in-tank hydraulic filter design with breather and oil indicator level to reduce leak points associated with remote mounted filters
