Equipment Maker Buys Four Dealerships

Komatsu purchases four branches of Arizona-based Road Machinery, creating umbrella of company-owned dealerships in Texas and New Mexico.

Komatsu America Corp. has purchased four branches of Road Machinery, LLC.  that will become company-owned facilities under the Komatsu Southwest banner. The four branch locations are:

  • El Paso, TX
  • Carlsbad, NM
  • Albuquerque, NM
  • Farmington, NM

These branches will support Komatsu’s long-term strategic plans to grow and strengthen the distribution channel. Komatsu America purchased the locations from Arizona-based Road Machinery, LLC in a deal that closed on October 5. No other transaction terms are being disclosed.

“We will more than double the investment in equipment, tooling and training at these locations,” said Rod Schrader, CEO, Komatsu America. “We see this as an opportunity to improve the linkage of our customers to our factory experts with added customer support and responsiveness,” Schrader said.

Komatsu America Corp. is a U.S. subsidiary of Komatsu Ltd., one of the world’s largest manufacturers and suppliers of earth-moving equipment consisting of construction, mining and compact construction equipment. Komatsu America also serves the forklift and forestry markets.
