Growing Crime Trend Targeting Lawn Care Businesses

A growing crime trend in Texas is targeting both landscapers and outdoor power equipment dealerships, burglarizing equipment.

Police in 14 Tarrant County cities have grouped together to stop the recent, growing trend of burglaries at area landscaping businesses and lawn and garden equipment stores.

Foreman's General Store, in Colleyville, TX, was one of the first businesses struck. "They're going across Texas doing this," owner Greg Foreman said. "In a very short time, they hit us for over $30,000 worth of equipment." Foreman’s is a finalist for Yard & Garden Magazine’s Dealers in Excellence award this year.
