At GIE+EXPO 2015, Husqvarna unveiled its new cloud-based Fleet Services portal along with new mowers, a battery-powered blower and new safety accessories designed for commercial users.
Mowers
For larger properties requiring professional performance and premium cut quality, Husqvarna has introduced the latest addition to its M-ZT Series of zero-turn riding mowers. The M-ZT61 EFI zero-turn is powered by a 27-hp EFI engine. The mower also features an intuitive operator interface, 2"x3" heavy-duty steel frame, and a commercial-rated hydraulic system. Additionally, this mower features a fabricated steel deck that is both mulch- and collection-capable.
Husqvarna also unveiled a new commercial-grade walk mower. The LC221Ai walk mower integrates technology advancements with proven design elements, the company points out, providing balance and power to all four wheels to better handle tough terrain, hills and wet grass. In addition to all-wheel drive, key features of the mower include a 2.3-bushel bag, 15-gauge-steel deck, 21-inch all-in-one blade, and a no-prime, no-choke InStart bail starting system.
Battery-powered blower
Husqvarna displayed its new 436LiB handheld blower. The company says this lightweight, low-maintenance, easy-to-use blower is ideal for the time-conscious professional seeking high performance that's similar to a gas-powered unit. A simple tap on the control panel gets the blower started, and cruise control maintains constant speeds. A power boost setting allows for the removal of stubborn debris, leaves and dirt. The slim, narrow design and soft grip enhance user comfort.
Accessories
Also in the Husqvarna GIE+EXPO 2015 booth was its lineup of user accessories.
New technical jackets and pants were featured. Each provides zippered pockets, pre-bent knees and arms, ventilation zippers and Cordura reinforcement over elbows.
A new pro forest helmet was unveiled. It features a one-handed ratchet system that allows for easy size adjustment.
Cloud-based Fleet Services program
Husqvarna also rolled out its cloud-based service, Fleet Services, which connects a machine fleet and landscaping crew directly to an online portal. This enables landscape professionals to have insights into their operations at their fingertips.
By mounting a small wireless sensor to a piece of equipment, Husqvarna Fleet Services captures machine status data, translating it into valuable information that can be used to help boost productivity and profits.
Fleet Services is in final beta testing with key tree care and landscaping professionals. It's expected to be available as early as next year.
Additionally, Husqvarna plans to launch a smartphone app to further support on-site operations for landscaping crews.
