New EveryDrop Surfactant Helps Homeowners Save Water

The California Department of Food and Agriculture has approved the registration for Scotts EveryDrop, an innovative consumer product that helps residents conserve water.

How EveryDrop Works. Often in dry conditions, soils compact and cause available rain or irrigation water to bead on the surface and be wasted. EveryDrop is a watering agent that uses an innovative surfactant technology to help available water penetrate the soil more easily and evenly so it can better reach the root zone and hydrate the plant. Surfactants have long been available to commercial landscapers and golf course managers. The technology will now be available in the consumer space and allows homeowners to get great results in their lawns and reduce their irrigation by up to 25%, Scotts points out.

In April, California Governor Jerry Brown declared the first-ever statewide water restrictions aimed at reducing water usage by 25%. The declaration, in recognition of the long-term and far-reaching drought conditions that persist across California, directs agencies to incentivize water-saving technologies as homeowners seek ways to reduce water use and eliminate water waste.
