New Prevailing Wage Data Available for H-2B Users

OES prevailing wage data, valid through June 2015, shows average wages for landscaping workers all across the country.

The Office of Foreign Labor Certification has announced that the newest prevailing wage data from the Occupational Employment Survey (OES) as generated by the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) for the year from July 2014 - June 2015 is now in effect.

OES wage information for Landscaping & Groundskeeping workers (37-3011) can serve as one of three primary pieces of data used to determine what landscaping companies must pay their seasonal H-2B workers.

Highlights of the new wage data

The markets with the lowest average wages are all in Puerto Rico, with a low of $8.04 an hour. The lowest-paying market in the contiguous United States is Monroe, LA. The average there is $9.23 an hour.

The highest-paying market is Nantucket Island/Martha’s Vineyard, two posh islands off the coast of Massachusetts. The average wage for a landscaping worker is $20.12. One year ago it was $18.60.

The second highest-paying market is San Francisco/San Mateo/Redwood City. The average wage is $20.09. One year ago it was $19.55.
