Similar to preparation with vehicles and equipment for the season, there is financial preparation that must be done.
"Now to be clear, many landscape companies do not do this financial preparation," Herring says. "It is one of the reasons why the average margin in the industry is so low, about 5% of revenue (after depreciation). At The Herring Group, we aim to change that reality."
