The newest edition to the Gravely range of commercial mowers is the Z-Stance, which made its debut at GIE+Expo 2021.

The Z-Stance is designed for landscapers who may be new to the industry and want a professional stand-on mower for its comfort and visibility, or for seasoned pros who need a complimentary machine to their already existing fleet.

“Stand-on mowers are the fastest growing category in the lawn equipment market. They offer great comfort and visibility on the jobsite for operators,” says Grant Wilson, product director, Gravely commercial. “The new Z-Stance is a professional mower with simplified operations for a more inclusive set of users.”

Compared with Gravely’s Pro-Stance, its flagship stand-on mower, the Z-Stance has simpler cruise control operation, easier access to a smaller fuel tank, a flip-up platform that allows for a smaller footprint and a shorter width for smaller trailer transportation.

The Z-Stance includes a professional four-year or 500-hour warranty. It features Kawasaki FS engines and comes in three sizes:

  • 32-inch deck with 18.5 horsepower
  • 48-inch deck with 22 horsepower
  • 52-inch deck with 22 horsepower

One notable feature for the new Z-Stance is its X-Factor 3 deck design that enables more grass to be cut at a higher speed and brings new designs for easy maintenance. It has a 5/8-inch reinforced leading Edge that is sloped and an all-new baffle design. An optimized, larger discharge opening and flip-up chute allow for more uniformed dispersion.

The X-Factor 3 deck has a simpler design to improve maintenance time, including a tool-less belt cover that enables easy mower deck cleaning and serviceability. Self-adjusting belt tension technology keeps belt tension constant, which maximizes belt life, minimizes wear and maintains a consistent, quality cut. The new deck comes in three sizes, all of which have steel that is rated 7 Ga for durability and performance over time.

Other features of the new Z-Stance include:

  • Hydro-Gear ZT3100 transaxles
  • 20-inch rear tires and 11-inch 5-6 front tires
  • 5-gallon fuel capacity
  • 4-year or 500-hour warranty

Operator comfort is at the forefront for the Z-Stance's design. It features an isolated operator platform that reduces vibration and enables superior visibility on the job site. A large, padded operator cushion gives operators a secure surface to lean against, ensuring they can work comfortably for many hours. An adjustable speed control bar allows users to conveniently speed up or slow down the mower without needing a separate control.
