CENTS to Add Landscape Architecture Continuing Education System

CENTS (The Central Environmental Nursery Trade Show) will offer LACES (Landscape Architecture Continuing Education System) at its 2014 convention through The Ohio State University Nursery Short Course. LACES is a landscape/design continuing education collaborative of the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA), Canadian Society of Landscape Architects (CSLA), Council of Educators in Landscape Architecture (CELA), Council of Landscape Architectural Registration Boards (CLARB), Landscape Architectural Accreditation Board (LAAB), and Landscape Architecture Foundation (LAF).

The purpose of LACES is to establish, maintain and enforce standards for evaluating professional development and continuing education programs for landscape architects and related design professionals. CENTS says it has been approved to offer LACES because of its ability to demonstrate its controls, and because its processes can fully monitor quality and track attendance.

LACES provides courses on topics ranging from green roofs and water conservation to professional applications such as CADD, keeping professionals current on trends such as sustainable design, livable communities and environmental planning.

“CENTS brings some 8,000 professionals together who work in the nursery and landscaping field, so increasingly CENTS marketplace is the go-to place for professional education, industry trends and mission-critical networking," states Amy Eldridge, manager of the 100-year-old event. “We are a national conference, so the onus is on us to keep value at the convention at a premium. Securing credentials through LACES is a substantial benefit to the profession, and we’re delighted to be qualified to provide that opportunity in Columbus.”
