A landscaper fell 35 feet down a gorge in Webster, New York and was pinned underneath his riding lawn mower before first responders extricated him.
Firefighters responded at 2:06 p.m. for the report of a man in the gorge, said Al Sienkiewicz, public information officer for the West Webster Fire Department.
There are a lot of trees between the cliff and the water, so the landscaper didn't go all the way down to the water. The accident could have been fatal, Sienkiewicz said.
"He's a lucky guy," Sienkiewicz said. "He ought to be buying a lottery ticket."
