Exmark Manufacturing and the Toro Giving Foundation recently donated zero-turn riding mowers to two school systems and a utility vehicle to a community organization in southeast Nebraska.

Southeast Community College (SCC Beatrice) and Southern Public Schools in Wymore will each receive a new Lazer Z AS, Exmark’s industry leading commercial lawn mower. Youth Rec. Inc. (YRI) in Beatrice will receive a new Toro Workman utility vehicle.

Exmark President Mark Stinson said the organizations were selected based on specific need requests, while also reinforcing the partnership Exmark has with local communities.

“Exmark is very proud of our southeast Nebraska roots, and are pleased to partner with the Toro Giving Foundation to support local causes and organizations that support education and local youth programs,” Stinson said. “Many of our employees have come from these school systems and benefited from community programs provided by local organizations, and this donation is a way to say thank you.”

Southeast Community College offers Horticulture-focused programs within its Agriculture, Business and Management Technology program. These programs train students on the latest advancements in the landscape industry, as well as educate students on repair and the appropriate upkeep of landscape equipment.

Southern Public Schools is a K-12 Public Education District in southern Gage County. The district serves approximately 420 children and covers approximately 165 square miles, and the mower will help ensure outdoor sports fields, playgrounds and other areas are properly maintained and cared for.

YRI in Beatrice has provided Gage County youth with summer softball and baseball programs for more than 60 years. Last year, nearly 600 youth on 55 teams played ball in YRI leagues at Hannibal Park fields. Hannibal Park is also home to the Beatrice Girls Softball Association, SSC Beatrice women’s softball, Beatrice men’s slow pitch and fast pitch teams, the YMCA Coed League and the Beatrice High School softball team. The Toro Workman will be used to help keep all areas properly maintained.

The Toro Giving Program is committed to beautifying and preserving outdoor environments, enhancing communities and improving peoples’ lives.
