John Deere Landscapes Acquires Alabama/Florida Irrigation Supplier

Tieco Inc. has eight locations serving customers in Alabama and Florida with irrigation, pump and well supplies.

John Deere Landscapes is acquiring Tieco Inc., a distributor of irrigation, pump and well supplies.

“The acquisition of Tieco expands our presence in Alabama and Florida with well-located branches, talented and experienced associates, and a reputation for quality products and services that has been built over 40 years,” said Doug Black, CEO of John Deere Landscapes. “We welcome our new associates and are glad to have them joining our team.”

Tieco began serving the green industry in Birmingham, AL, in 1967 as a supplier of golf course maintenance equipment and irrigation supplies. As customer relationships created demand, Tieco expanded its operations to other locations. However, due to changing market conditions, Tieco phased out golf course maintenance equipment in 2005. This move created an opportunity for Tieco to focus on the growing needs of irrigation and landscape contractors, well drillers, and athletic field managers. Today, Tieco has eight locations serving the state of Alabama and the Florida Panhandle.

On a somewhat related note, John Deere Landscapes has announced that it will be changing its name to SiteOne Landscape Supply LLC. Clayton, Dubilier & Rice (CD&R), a highly respected private investment firm, assumed majority interest in the company back in late-2013.

John Deere Landscapes (SiteOne Landscape Supply) now has over 470 locations across North America.
