Syngenta released its Recognition Herbicide, which controls more than 40 weeds including all major sedges, dollarweed and clover in St. Augustinegrass, zoysiagrass, buffalograss and kikuyugrass.
“We’re excited about the new control options Recognition will bring lawn care operators,” said Lane Tredway, Ph.D., technical services manager for turf at Syngenta. “It will fill the gaps in their ability to control weeds with unprecedented turf safety.”
With Recognition, lawn care operators can achieve outstanding control of broadleaf weeds, sedges and kyllingas with unparalleled turf safety. Recognition contains the active ingredient trifloxysulfuron, a sulfonylurea herbicide that controls sedge and kyllinga species in addition to many broadleaf and grass weeds. It features a proprietary safener, metcamifen, which helps safen certain herbicides in tank mixtures for faster, stronger and broader-spectrum control. Recognition is particularly well-suited for St. Augustinegrass lawns, where few weed control options are available. Other products labeled for St. Augustinegrass often cause unacceptable levels of turf injury, especially during the summer.
