Greenworks Commercial made a splash at GIE+EXPO 2021 by announcing not only its new lithium-ion battery powered equipment and tools, but also its $20 million investment in a new manufacturing, research and development, product testing and customer experience in east Tennessee.
“Greenworks is proud to have led battery-powered innovation for years, and this new facility will allow us to continue to lead the industry in creating the best, most durable and most eco-friendly commercial power equipment in the world,” says Tony Marchese, vice president of sales and operations, Greenworks Commercial. “We’re excited to make this investment in U.S. manufacturing, ushering Greenworks Commercial into a new era.”
The new facility is set to open spring of 2022 and welcome more than 200 new employees.
That wasn't the only news Greenworks shared, they introduced new product offering for commercial-grade battery-powered outdoor equipment.
Trimmers
The new trimmers and edgers were developed to provide a longer runtime than previous models.
The 82V string trimmers utilize a direct drive, commercial grade brushless motor.
- 2.0 kW power
- Low speed setting for more power or longer runtime
- Large gripping areas for comfort during use
- Models include: 82ST15, 82ST20 and 82B20
The new 82ES15 commercial stick edger has a magnesium guard and housing for enhanced durability. The runtime on this model is up to 120 minutes.
They also announced their new hedge trimmers that come in a variety of sizes and lengths and all come with a 50-50 tip-to-motor weight balance, reduced effort two-step trigger system and 24-inch dual action steel blades. Models include:
- Short-pole fixed 82PH30F
- Mid-pole fixed 82PH40F
- Mid-pole articulating 82PH53A
- Long-pole articulating 82PH62T
Robotic Mower: optimow
The optimow mower is equipped with 4G cellular connectivity and fully integratedGPS tracking,allowing operators to view its real-time location and operate from anywhere.Optimow robotic mower scan be customized for everything from scheduling to cut height and can operate on lawns with up to a 35% grade slope.
The commercial-grade mower includes four models optimow 33, optimow 33H, optimow 66 and optimow 66H. The 33 and 33H models can cut up to 1/3 acre on a full charge, while the 66 and 66H models can cut up to 2/3 acre on a full charge. The optimow 33and 66 models have a cut height from 0.8 in.-2.4 in., while the 33H and 66H cut heights range from 2.4 in.-4 in.
Blowers
Available in backpack or handheld models, the new 82V blowers provide the performance needed without the smell, mess and emissions of gas. Both models feature a dual-port powerhead with dual battery draw technology, providing more power while keeping the battery cooler.
The backpack blower, 82BA26, has a runtime 65 minutes and airspeed of 194 MPH. While the handheld blower, 82BH22, has the same runtime as its backpack counterpart, the airspeed is 140 mph.
Mowers
Greenworks Commercial debuted three new commercial mowers at the tradeshow. All features dual power powerhead with dual battery draw technology, offering maximum power throughout the cut.
Available are a 21-in. push mower (82LM21), a 21-in. self-propelled mower (82SLM21S) and a 25-in. self-propelled mower (82LM25S). All feature commercial-grade motors, wheels and bearings for longevity. Self-propelled models include the same durability in transmission and gears.
Saws
An 82V chainsaw, a telescoping pole saw and a new commercial power cutter were unveiled on the show floor.
The 82CS24, 82CS27 and the 82CS34 all feature automatic chain lubrication, weather resistant housing and steel bucking spikes.
The 10-in. telescoping pole saw model 82PS10T utilizes a direct drive, commercial brushless motor and features a 15-degree pitch to improve cutting along with a reduce effort two-step trigger system.
The 12-in. power cutter, 82PC12, can handle materials like concrete, masonry or pipes up to 110 mm thick. The tool has a precision aiming LED which allows for more controlled results and comes with an oversized trigger, making it easier to operate with gloves on.
