This past year, Brad Terrell of A Cut Above Landscape Management based in Fortson, GA, decided to conduct an exercise he’d heard about for years but never deemed a priority: develop a company mission statement, vision, and set of core values. Doing this has helped get crews and managers all on the same page, enabling employees to make better decisions throughout the course of each day.

The company mission statement, vision and core values are printed and hung throughout the office and shop. They are continually reviewed in company meetings. Finally, they are printed on pocket cards for employees to keep with them throughout the day.

Here’s a look at what Terrell and his team came up with. Would they work for your company?
