Honda's GX120, GX160 and GX200 mid-sized engines are single-cylinder, horizontal-shaft models that provide power for commercial turf products and heavy-duty applications, including agricultural equipment, construction/industrial equipment, generators, pressure washers and water pumps. The engines incorporate a number of elements to improve performance, such as:
- Changed valve timing, compression ratio and carburetor settings, as well as cooling system modifications to improve fuel efficiency.
- Upgrades to proprietary components to help ensure compliance with more stringent emissions standards.
- A better muffler structure design, breather valves, push rod materials and crank case cover rigidity to reduce noise levels.
- A carburetor chamber coating, an improved recoil rope design and an added carburetor filter.
- A lighter engine piston to reduce operating vibration.
