Stihl Inc. recently became the first sponsor of PlanItDIY.com, a resource for how-to video and step-by-step project guides that connect users directly to local, independent hardware retailers and other do-it-yourselfers (DIYers) in the community. The website, in conjunction with the National Retail Hardware Association (NRHA), is supported by 36,000 independent hardware stores, lumberyards and home centers.
“Our customers are very much aligned with the DIY culture, so supporting this online resource seemed like a natural fit for Stihl,” said Roger Phelps, promotional communication manager for Stihl Inc. “Stihl believes in supporting education endeavors in all forms, and this is our way to help people tackle their day-to-day projects and let them know about the best equipment available for the job.”

PlanItDIY.com will provide project videos and information consumers are looking for, while promoting that the best place to find this information is at their local, independent home improvement retailer.

As part of the sponsorship, Stihl will provide how-to and informational videos for the website.
