Avalanche Optimus Plow

The makers of Avalanche-branded snow-removal equipment remind us of an age-old problem: A steel blade is level, a parking lot is not. Steel blades are great for cutting through hard-packed snow right to the pavement, when the pavement is flat. However, many sites have peaks and troughs around catch basins or where traffic has worn the asphalt. Snow is often left behind in these areas.

The Optimus is designed to solve this issue with floating blades that contour to the surface gradients, keeping steel on tarmac even when plowing over unlevel ground. The Optimus combines strength and sophistication to allow “one-pass” cleaning, according to the company.
