It’s designed for felling, bucking, limbing and stump removal, it delivers power equivalent to a 70-cc gas-powered chainsaw and it is fully compatible with Milwaukee Tool’s M18 system.

As if that weren’t enough, it’s also one of the winners of Green Industry Pros 2025 Editor’s Choice Awards in the tree care category.

“Being recognized with a 2025 Editor’s Choice Award is an honor that reinforces Milwaukee Tool’s commitment to delivering user-driven innovation,” says Jake Teitler, senior product manager at Milwaukee Tool. “For the team behind the M18 Fuel 20-Inch Dual Battery Chainsaw, this award is a validation of the time spent working alongside professional tree care crews to understand their biggest challenges and design a solution that meets—and exceeds—their expectations.”

2827 10 JMilwaukee Tool“This chainsaw enhances efficiency by eliminating the time-consuming headaches of gas-powered tools—such as pull starts, fuel mixing and engine maintenance—while delivering power that can handle the most demanding cutting tasks,” Teitler says. “Ultimately, these features help reduce fatigue, improve precision and increase overall efficiency.”

The product was designed based on conversations that Milwaukee’s team had on various jobsites with tree care professionals, according to Teitler.

“Crews were demanding a truly capable, battery-powered chainsaw that didn’t force tradeoffs in power or run time,” Teitler says. “The release of Milwaukee’s M18 RedLithium Forge batteries created the opportunity to bring that vision to life—unlocking the next level of battery performance.”

Before using the product, professionals should keep in mind that the chainsaw requires two M18 batteries for operation—ideally two M18 RedLithium Forge XC8.0 batteries to unlock full performance potential.

Tree care professionals should also be sure to follow proper personal protective equipment, maintenance and safety guidelines to ensure safe and efficient operation.

Overall, Teitler notes that the chainsaw is a testament to Milwaukee’s ongoing investment in the tree care industry.
