Husqvarna Moving Zero-Turn Production

Husqvarna is moving production of its zero turn mowers and specialty turf equipment from Beatrice, NE, to Orangeburg, SC.

Husqvarna has announced that production of its zero-turn-radius mowers and specialty turf equipment products in the U.S. will be consolidated into the Group’s plant in Orangeburg, SC. Final assembly operations in the Beatrice, NE, facility will be discontinued during the second half of 2010. The Beatrice facility currently has approximately 390 employees.

The company says consolidating production in a single plant will enable substantial improvements in the efficiency of the production process, as well as higher productivity.

Currently, the Orangeburg plan produces riding tractors, tillers and snowthrowers.
