According to the Ariens website, when you’re in the driver’s seat of one of its lawn tractors, you have the power to tackle the toughest jobs. One Florida man seemed to think it was A-OK to pound a cold one while tackling those tough jobs.
According to a Herald-Tribune news story, a 58-year-old in Punta Gorda, FL, was driving his Ariens lawn tractor alongside a roadway. After nearly colliding with another vehicle, the man was pulled over by law enforcement. He had an open can of beer resting in the tractor’s cup holder, along with several more unopened brewskies on the floorboard. The man also happened to have two knives, a gun, and several rounds of ammunition beneath the driver’s seat and on “on his person” (Dragnet speak for “in his pockets” more than likely, let's just hope).
While it appears as though the gun was not loaded, it does appear that this lawn tractor operator was. Ultimately the man was charged with driving under the influence, possession of a firearm by convicted felon, violation of a driver’s license restriction, and corruption by threat against a public servant.
