The North American market for Utility-Terrain Vehicles (UTVs) – also commonly referred to as Side-by-Side Vehicles (SSVs) – grew by 97,900 units, or nearly 43.5%, from 2009-2012 with sales successes by Kubota, John Deere, Kawasaki, Polaris Industries and BRP/Can-Am. Sales in 2012 set a record, exceeding the previous year by more than 42,000 units.

This was reported in Power Products Marketing’s 2012 North American Utility Vehicle Market Report. The market research report was produced for its 16th year by a team of industry-specific analysts with the aid of more than 5,000 dealers.

Kubota is confident that their sales will continue to follow the strong market sales as they see growth in the diesel segment.

"Kubota is seeing strong sales in the work-oriented segment of the utility vehicle market, and expects 2013 industry sales to remain strong for the rest of the year,” shares Todd Stucke, vice president of Agriculture and Turf Equipment for Kubota Tractor Corporation. “Our diesel RTVs are especially seeing steady growth."
